Weekend of Specialness
"I could care less whether people feel we're back. One game doesn't really make a difference," safety Brian Dawkins said. "But when you line up against us and start playing, when we run the ball or throw it, when the big hits start coming, that's when I want them to recognize what type of Eagles team this is."
Man it’s good to have football back in my life. I’m a mess without it. I've missed it's smell, I've missed it's musk...But I digress.
Sometimes you just have to get back to basics. After a prolonged absence from Gua-rapo it was nice to return there in style for Morgan’s birthday on Saturday night. The re-modeling has taken the upstairs to a new level and if I had any game whatsoever I would of talked to one of the 50 or so A-list caliber ladies that were in attendance. Combine that with NFL Ticket all day on Sunday, some Peru, and an Eagles win, and it was a pretty special post-Labor Day weekend. I should mention that last weekend did have its moment of sadness as Saturday was probably the last time that 1124, AKA “The Factory” will ever host an after party. Only 2 weekends remain before the move takes place, and neither figure to play host to the type of decadence that has become customary over the last 4 years. In honor of 1124, I present a favorite quote of mine in memory of, with a dedication article to follow later this month:
* I didn't think it would end this way.
* End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take.
The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass... And then you see it.
*What?...See what?
*White shores... and beyond. The far green country under a swift sunrise.
[They both smile as they look at each other]
* Well, that isn't so bad.
* [softly] No... No it isn't.
