Excursion - short trips of pleasure. That's what this blog is about.

After a poison ivy induced 9- day hiatus from working out resulted in my tipping the scales at my highest weight in probably 2 years, I realized workouts alone would not get me back to my playing weight of 175 – 178. So I tapped into the best resource I’ve got – Joseph E. Watson. After a nice cardio at Sport & Health I followed Joey to his favorite place in the world – Trader Joe’s. Being a loyal Harris Teeter guy the last 2 years, this was my first trip ever to Joe’s. I guess I always dismissed it as a place where only Russes from Oregon that eat strictly organic food go (Oh, hey great to see you again Parks), and was under the misconception that the food had to taste awful. My intention was to just pick up some fruit and be on my way, but with Joey as my guide I definitely stumbled upon a new Super Fresh Guarens. The sushi, the veggies, even the healthy chips and salsa looked good. And Joey’s assessment on the above average quality of pigeons was right on point…if only I could figure out a possible intro line in a grocery store. I’ve thought about this for the better part of a decade and I’ve still got nothing.

Song of the Week:

Esplanade ’97 off Lee Burridge’s This is Everybody on Tour. It’s track 11 on Lee’s Disc of the double disc album. Surprisingly I like Burridge’s album much better than Sander’s Disc.

Rap Lyric Trivia:

Maybe if I popped Cristal
Said I had a Lexus, or a triple beam I'd get a deal
I'd rather speak upon a Maurice Cheeks steal
It's the outta paper, not the caps I peel
I used my independent, money to pay the rent
Remain at hell bent, and far from heaven sent
Where they went? The days when mics got destroyed
B's just boy-ed, the soft punks got toyed

Answer (Track #9 on this album)
