950

So my car battery died on Sunday and I had to buy a new one and replace it myself this morning before work. It was a great way to start the week, especially since it was about 104 degrees by 9 AM. Anyway, it was my first time changing a car battery, but after some trial and error I finally put the new battery in and was on my way. Sometime during my workout (Just missed that 950, Tribe said Find a Way) my Mom leaves me a message telling me how proud she was that I was able to replace the battery on my own. When I returned the call my Dad essentially echoed the sentiments of Moms. While I was comforted by the positive reinforcement, It got me thinking about the level of expectations that I've apparently established for myself and others. Perhaps this is part of a subconscious master plan that I've had all along to fool people into underestimating me. I'm not really sure. Maybe that's the result of having 7 jobs in one year. Yeah that's what happens man, that's what happens.

Check out this link a friend of mine sent me. It's a music video by RadioHead and DJ Shadow (from U.N.K.L.E.). It's a different vibe than anything else I've ever heard Shadow affiliated with, clearly not the same steez as "No More Subliminal Shit" or G.D.M.F.S.O.B. off James Lavelle's GU Romania album, but I enjoyed the message of the video.

So, a little update on that ringing endorsement I gave for Fly. Yes I do dig the fact that the bartenders are hot and I guess it's cool that it looks like the inside of an airplane, and it is a good place to go on a Tuesday night...but I'm way off it as a Saturday destination. Unless you have a hookup (which I guess we now do) or are planning on getting there early you have to deal with an obnoxious wait even without a line, and the crowd is, let's just use the word suspect.

Finished Angels & Demons today. I agreed with a lot of people who said they liked it better than Da Vinci Code. It took longer to get going but the climax was more enthralling and didn't leave me hanging at the end. I just wanna know what Vittoria Vetra looks like. In my head she's that woman who Tony beats up over in Italy during Season 1 of the Sopranos.

Rap Lyric Trivia

Fuck fist fights and lame scuffles

Pillow case to your face, make the shell muffle

Shoot your daughter in the calf muscle

Fuck a tussle, nickel-plated

Sprinkle coke on the floor, make it drug related

Most hate it..
